5 Buildings to Keep an Eye on in 2016

We’re almost four months into 2016 and we feel it’s an appropriate time to zoom in on some major construction projects happening worldwide. Though there are millions to choose from we picked five of our favourites to focus on.  With completion dates set to be this year, let’s take a closer look!

WorldOne (Mumbai, India)

Standing at 117 stories high, this will be the tallest residential building in the world upon completion. It is definitely targeted towards the upper class with units equivalent of $2.1 million Canadian. Interiors designed by none other than Georgio Armani.

Lotte World Tower (Seoul, South Korea)

This tower is the 6th tallest building in the world, standing at 1821 feet tall. This project has totalled 3.3 billion and happens to be the highest building on the Korean peninsula.

Marina 101 (Dubai, UAE)

The building boom in Dubai that started in the early 2000’s definitely caught the worlds attention. The massive growth resulted in some incredible building structures, one being the Marina 101. Close to 1400 feet, the Marina 101 isn’t to far from the world’s tallest building the Burj Khalifa (in height and distance!).

Lamar Towers (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)

Not one but two towers due to be completed in 2016. In total it has required 24,000 cubic meters of concrete and 6500 tons of steel. The structures will be the second and fifth tallest buildings in Saudi.

220 Central Park South (New York City, USA)

Designed by Roger Stern this is due to be the 10th tallest building in New York City. With incredible views the condos in this building will be amongst some of the most expensive in the world. The penthouses are reportedly going for $150-$175 million. Time to start saving!

There are tons of buildings due for completion worldwide in 2016. We hope you agree that these are by far amongst some of the coolest! To join the discussion about construction projects and news sign up for BuildBoom.com.
